If your name is Fatima, here's who you're named after.
Aisha remembered the day Fatima came walking in, and her walk was just like her father's. The Prophet ﷺ said, "Welcome, my daughter," and sat her down beside him.
He told her something quietly, and she began to cry. He told her something else, and she laughed. Aisha said she had never seen happiness so close to sadness. She asked Fatima what he'd said, and Fatima answered: "I would never give away the secret of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ."
She kept it for as long as he lived. Only after he passed away did she tell Aisha:
"He said: 'Every year Jibril went over the Quran with me once. This year he did it twice. I think my time has come, and you will be the first of my family to follow me.' So I cried. Then he said: 'Aren't you pleased to be the leader of the women of Paradise, or of the believing women?' So I laughed." (Sahih al-Bukhari 3623–3624)
