If your name is Abdullah or Abdur-Rahman, the Prophet ﷺ said this about it:
"The names dearest to Allah are Abdullah and Abdur-Rahman." (Sahih Muslim 2132)
Abdullah means servant of Allah. Abdur-Rahman means servant of the Most Merciful. Your name doesn't say how strong you are, or how rich, or where you're from. It says whose you are.
Abdullah was his father's name. At Hudaybiyah, the Quraysh refused to sign anything that called him the Messenger of Allah: write "Muhammad ibn Abdullah," they said. He answered: "By Allah, I am the Messenger of Allah even if you deny me. Write: Muhammad ibn Abdullah." (Sahih al-Bukhari 2731)
And Abdur-Rahman ibn Awf came to Medina as an emigrant. His new brother in faith, Sa'd ibn al-Rabi, offered him half of everything he owned. Abdur-Rahman said: "May Allah bless your family and your wealth for you. Show me the market." (Sahih al-Bukhari 2049)
Two names, and both start with the same word: servant.
